WELCOME TO MY FRONT DOOR (PART 2)

Those who follow my blog know that I've been in quite a quandary about remodeling my home. I think it's pretty much settled that the kitchen will be my starting point. The rest of the house will be done to coordinate with the kitchen. I'm staying true to my love of green but in varying shades. The kitchen below kind of sets the mood I'm trying to achieve.

Now to get to this look would require painting my cabinets or having them refaced. It's funny how pinterest.com makes me think I'm capable of painting cabinets!

WHITE DRESSES

I've spoken before about wearing white after Labor Day and I think we all agree white can be worn any time of the year. With that thought in mind, I started looking for white items I would like to buy and ran across a great website! Take a look at www.shopwhitedress.com they've got a fantastic sale going on. The website reminded me that there are several events that a white dress is required ie: perhaps graduation, sorority initiations, vacations, informal weddings etc. Can you imagine all of your guest wearing white for Christmas!

This site also gave me a great idea...I'll post pictures as soon as I find it! Oh, you don't want me to keep it a secret... a white velvet dress! I hope I find one!

Sophie Theallet

I have fallen in love with Sophie Theallet! I'm going to get in to some of her Spring 2012 Ready To Wear Collection if I have to starve to death to do it! Okay, well if I can't wear her clothing, I will be in attendance at one of her next Fashion Week shows!

I loved the orange/magenta dresses, the pieces that had a touch of green (of course) and the whites. I got all of the following pictures from New York Fashion Mag so bear with me as I share some of my favorites with you.

WHITE AFTER LABOR DAY?

Even as kids we heard we couldn't wear white after Labor Day. And for years, I went right along with the concept of not wearing white even to the point of limiting my purchases of white. I didn't dress my children in white, choosing to maximize my buying power to clothing that could be worn year around. Well all of that has changed! I recently bought my first pair of white jeans and a pair of white denim capris in years and I'm going to wear them with sweatshirts, sweaters, hoodies and whatever else I can find to wear with them. Next summer, I will buy all the white I can find in an appropriate apparel to get the most out of my wardrobe. I'm thinking white leather pants and jacket!

I feel like I owe all four of my kids a pair of white jeans! What do you think about white after Labor Day? Let me know.
