VINTAGE GREEN

Recently The Studio Museum of Harlem held its sixth annual Spring Luncheon at New York City's swanky Mandarin Oriental hotel -- Museum Educator Katrina DeWees wears a vintage dress, necklace and clutch, with Vince Camuto shoes. That's my kind of luncheon attire!

ANOTHER ONE FROM OMG! FROM YAHOO!

I just had to steal this picture of actress Rosario Dawson from OMG! from Yahoo! I think the boobs took center stage over the emerald green dress! She wore this to the 2012 White House Correspondent's Association Dinner held at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington DC. By the way the President and Mrs. Obama were in attendance! More later if I find a picture of Mrs. Obama's dress.

IT'S BEEN A FEW DAYS!

I've been so busy these last couple weeks I haven't taken the time to post anything! As the kids say today "my bad." I'm finally getting back in the swing of things! But first things first: in January, something new is being kicked off and I'm happy to be a part of it on its' grass roots level!
I'm tempted to let you guess what it is but it's Sunday morning and I just don't feel like being that mean this morning! So I will tell you.
The Green Slipper Society
is coming to a city near you!

NBC GOES GREEN

My husband woke me up last night to tell me that the NBC logo was all green. I didn't understand what he meant so I got up to look and there it was: the NBC peacock was sporting all green feathers! I grabbed my cell phone and took the best picture I could with eyes half open.

I went back to sleep without thinking too much about it. But when I woke up this morning, The Today Show logo was green as well. Surely they didn't change their logos just so The Emerald Obsessive would have something to talk about so I looked up the reason.

"NBCUniversal is making a commitment to sustainability across the entire company. Our Green is Universal initiative focuses on bringing an environmental perspective to everything we do, informing and entertaining our audiences while incorporating more sustainable practices into our own operations. As one of the world’s largest media and entertainment companies, we want to participate in and help lead one of the most important dialogues of our time–and build a stronger business and a more sustainable world in the process."

The simplest way we can help is by using drinking mugs and coffee cups instead of paper, styrofoam and plastic!

IT'S STILL ALL ABOUT THE GREEN

My daughter just skimmed through Elle Magazine's October 2011 issue when she came across something she knew I would love! Thank you Samantha! Their From Russia With Love article featured...GREEN! I just had to share the pictures with you. For those of you who are shy about wearing color the short green leather gloves or the cape lined in green would be perfect for you. But for those who aren't shy, that vintage Max Mara cotton jumpsuit (circa 1976-1977) is just the thing for you! I'm loving the green tights and the elbow length gloves! Tell me what you think and when you wear green .. send a picture to emeraldgreen@gmail.com so I can post! (clothing by Max Mara. Pictures featured in Elle Magazine and taken by Carter Smith)

Sophie Theallet

I have fallen in love with Sophie Theallet! I'm going to get in to some of her Spring 2012 Ready To Wear Collection if I have to starve to death to do it! Okay, well if I can't wear her clothing, I will be in attendance at one of her next Fashion Week shows!

I loved the orange/magenta dresses, the pieces that had a touch of green (of course) and the whites. I got all of the following pictures from New York Fashion Mag so bear with me as I share some of my favorites with you.
(in no particular order)

Don't Say I Didn't Warn You!

I'm all about green this fall (with a few other colors thrown in). Shopping this morning online, I found this gorgeous dress by Igigi. I don't have any place to wear it unless I decide to throw an event but I love the color. It's a dress that you can wear two different ways (probably more if you're creative!) The belt is reversible to allow more looks!
