R.I.P. WHITNEY

The Emerald Obsessive is heartbroken over the passing of Ms. Houston. She was like a daughter, a sister and a friend. Because we still have her music, Whitney's voice will never be silent. Thank You God for allowing us to have her until You wanted her back.

PLEATED SKIRTS ARE BACK!

I loved the ease of wearing pleated skirts when they were in style eons ago. And from the looks of Jil Sander's spring collection, I'll be getting one in my favorite color - green! I snagged a picture from net-a-porter along with some other green pieces Ms. Sander is featuring. Enjoy!

ARTIST INSLEE HAYNES

Recently I saw a couple fashion illustrations by artist Inslee Haynes and immediately fell in love with her work! I contacted her to find out if she had any pieces with my favorite color green..and lo and behold she did! Here is a sample of her work, a J. Crew toggle coat.

Ms. Haynes features note cards, calendars and prints from her sketch book on her website www.inslee.net. Check her out!

READY FOR SPRING

I happened to see this painting the other day and thought about the onset of spring's warmer weather. Granted the temperatures this winter haven't been too cold, in fact it's been warm enough for me to get out and walk without bundling up in a pair of gloves, a hat and thermal underwear (I know the visual is hilarious!)  Something about this green bicycle brought back the memories of a pink bike I bought myself as a young adult. I would ride like the wind without a care in the world. This picture made me want to go back to those times; the times I thought I was footloose and fancy free. Each of us face several triggers each day that conjure up old feelings both good and bad. But who could possibly look at a green bicycle and not think pleasant thoughts? Have a great green filled day!
